Introduction to Welding – Regina

Program Details:

Dumont Technical Institute’s (DTI) Intro to Welding program is an eight-week accredited program that provides learners with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills needed to gain employment as welders.

  • Safety training
  • Hand and power tools training
  • Welding equipment
  • Oxyfuel cutting/welding and Plasma arc cutting
  • SMAW (stick) welding, and GMAW (MIG) welding
  • An overview of TIG and flux core welding, basic weld symbols.

Some industry safety tickets are included within this program. Specific courses are time and location-dependent. A two-week CWB (Canada Welding Bureau) exam preparation is included in this program. Clients who successfully complete all criteria of this program will receive 180 hours of trade-time recognition towards their apprenticeship plus any certification received through the successful passing of CWB exams.
