The Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following position:

Custodian/Maintenance – La Loche, SK

Competition Code: 2202 103L Feb 25

Duties: General maintenance including carpentry, minor plumbing and repairs as required. Perform daily cleaning duties. Maintain the grounds, including snow removal, grass cutting, sweeping as required. Regular monitoring of all mechanical and internal systems and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Grade twelve (12) or GED equivalent, general building maintenance experience on commercial facilities. The ideal candidate would possess a journeyperson certificate, or a minimum of five years experience and formal training in a relevant construction trade. WHMIS training and first aid/CPR considered assets. Ability to work in conjunction with other custodian staff. Will be familiar with building emergency procedures and emergency monitoring devices. Must have a working knowledge of all applicable Municipal, Provincial and Federal bylaws regarding the efficient, safe and legal operation of building and its systems. Candidate will have a valid class 5 driver’s license.

Hours of Work: Full time 7 hours/day (Possible split shift)

Term: April 1, 2022 – March 31, 2023

Remuneration: As per the GDI Collective Agreement
