Apprenticeship Services Manager – Leave Replacement

Responsibilities: The position will coordinate, manage, and deliver employment and training services specific to trades and apprenticeship for Indigenous clients throughout Saskatchewan. Under the supervision of the Director of GDI Training & Employment, the Apprenticeship Services Manager will be responsible for all aspects of project oversight, including monitoring and achievement of measureable and specific project targets. The Apprenticeship Services Manager will develop strategic partnerships with employers in the trades sector of the Saskatchewan labour market, and with other stakeholder agencies, in order to place Indigenous workers in apprenticeship positions. The Apprenticeship Services Manager will ensure base standards are met in the case management of clients; monitor delivery services; organize and participate in recruitment of client and employer partners; supervise and manage staff; follow GDI policies/SGEU Collective Agreement; participate in regional labour market needs assessment processes; develop and negotiate proposals; and other duties as assigned by the Director.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have significant experience with apprenticeship in Saskatchewan; a minimum of two years supervisory/management experience; a demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with staff and other agencies; exceptional communication skills, both oral and written; experience in the delivery of services in training and/or employment would be an asset; extensive understanding of Indigenous culture and the employment and training needs of the client group; and an excellent understanding of current labour market issues and trends in Saskatchewan.

Term: March 2023 – September 2023 (possibility of extension)
