Sessional Instructor – Methods in K-9 Science (ECUR 322)

Responsibilities: SUNTEP Saskatoon requires a sessional instructor for ECUR 322 – Methods in K-9 Science for 2025 Winter Term. This course is designed to prepare students for teaching K-9 provincial curriculum and to improve their knowledge of science. Students will be introduced to teaching science and to eh Saskatchewan Science Curriculum for the Elementary Level. Methods and resources will be introduced to teach the Curriculum and respectfully include Indigenous ways of knowing. This course will demonstrate methods in elementary science.
The assignment would involve planning, preparation and delivery of appropriate course instruction to students. Manage classroom activities to ensure an optimum learning environment for students. Evaluate student performance and provide consistent feedback. Awareness and implementation of culturally responsive approaches.
Qualifications: Candidate must possess a Master of Education and /or equivalent combination of training and experience in the content area and be approved by the University of Saskatchewan. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility and the ability to work with Indigenous student populations are an asset.
Remuneration: U of S Sessional Lecturer wage grid
