The Dumont Technical Institute a division of Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following position:

Director – Dumont Technical Institute

Dumont Technical Institute (DTI) provides Métis-specific Adult Basic Education and Post-Secondary Skills Training programming in multiple locations across Saskatchewan.

Duties and Responsibilities: Reporting to the Executive Director of the Gabriel Dumont Institute (GDI), the Director of DTI will be responsible for the overall administration of Dumont Technical Institute including but not limited to: providing detailed reports on DTI activities to the Executive Director and GDI Board as required; developing and implementing programs that meet the goals of the Institute; managing the overall human resources of DTI including the supervision of the senior administrative staff; overseeing the ongoing processes required to develop, maintain, and enhance annual training plans and business plan; preparing budgets, financial and other reports as required; liaising and maintaining relationships with relevant departments and agencies of the federal, provincial, and Métis Nation governments; overseeing the annual post-secondary skills training needs assessment process with the Saskatchewan Métis community; maintaining relationships with other post-secondary institutions; maintaining the DTI-Saskatchewan Polytechnic Federation Agreement; ensuring DTI meets its obligations under the Core Grant agreement; ensuring partnership development and community building to advance the profile of DTI; supporting the GDI mission, vision and strategic plan; and any other duties consistent with the DTI Director position, as assigned by the Executive Director of GDI.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Education, Educational Administration, Business Administration or a related discipline; candidates currently enrolled in a Master’s program may be considered. Must have several years of related and successful experience in the education sector, previous experience in a senior management role, 3-5 years of supervisory experience, knowledge of Métis culture and history is required, an understanding of issues in cross-cultural education, and exceptional oral and written communication skills. An understanding of, and demonstrated proficiency in, the use of a variety of software programs is essential.

Remuneration: Competitive Salary and Benefits package
Term: August 2024-June 2027 (with the possibility of renewal)
