The purpose of the Métis Nation Post-Secondary COVID-19 Relief Benefit is to provide financial assistance to Métis post-secondary students who have a demonstrated need due to economic disruptions or cost-of-living increases due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This benefit is funded by the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan and administered by Gabriel Dumont Institute.
To be eligible for this relief program you must be a registered citizen of the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan, or have an application for citizenship pending with the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan Citizenship Registry, and be attending recognized post-secondary education.
Due to the nature of this benefit, funds will be provided to students via electronic funds transfer (EFT) directly into their individual banking accounts. In an effort to expedite the payment process, all applicants are required to submit direct deposit information, however, direct deposit information will not be retained for unsuccessful applicants. Applications will be assessed based on demonstrated need and individuals will be notified within 10 business days of the application being submitted if their request has been approved.
