This program is designed to help Métis individuals enter or return to the workforce by participating in a practical work experience. The employer will prepare the trainees for the labour market by using and enhancing their skills.
The Wage Subsidy Program provides employers with a wage subsidy to hire Métis individuals for full time employment for a maximum of 26 weeks. The objective of the WSP is to assist Métis individuals to make the transition to career-related employment and provide them with marketable skills and experience that will likely lead to long-term employment.
