Mental Health and Wellness – Meadow Lake

Dumont Technical Institute’s (DTI) Mental Health & Wellness Program is as two-year diploma program, certified through Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT).

Students will learn and apply Indigenous and Western-based holistic approaches to healing and addictions counselling.

Year 1: Learn about the role of a mental health worker, develop skills in professional practice and healing work.

Year 2: Refine skills in practice of counselling. This allows students to develop professionally and enhance one’s sense of self.

 

Admission Requirements:

  • Grade 12, Adult 12, or GED transcripts are required.
  • Acceptable criminal record with vulnerable sector check.
  • Two character references indicating the applicant has refrained from the use of drugs and alcohol for at least one year prior to the program start date.
  • Students in this program are expected to maintain a positive and healthy lifestyle and be professionally strong in the field.
