GDC delivers the first two years of a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree through the University of Saskatchewan. GDC courses are offered in Saskatoon and Prince Albert, and focus on Native studies, Métis studies, and Indigenous languages. Learn more about GDC.

Since 1980, the award-winning GDI Culture and Heritage has produced over 160 Métis-specific resources. One project includes the Virtual Museum of Métis History and Culture, which houses the largest Métis artifact collection held by a Métis organization. With branches in Regina, Saskatoon, and Prince Albert, GDI’s Métis-specific library system is one of the most extensive owned by any Métis educational or cultural institution. Learn more about GDI’s library.
GDI operates with a 12-member board of governors plus a chairperson who is the Métis Nation – Saskatchewan Minister of Education. Board members are selected from each of the 12 MN–S regions.

Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research was founded in 1980 to help meet the educational and cultural needs of Saskatchewan’s Métis community. As the official training and education arm of the Métis Nation – Saskatchewan, GDI is owned by the Métis people of Saskatchewan.
