Indigenous Birth Support Worker – Saskatoon

Indigenous Birth Support Worker is a six-week program.

Indigenous Birth Support Worker Program

Program Details

This comprehensive 6-week program prepares students to provide emotional, physical, and cultural support to a person before, during, and shortly after childbirth.

Birth support workers play a vital role by offering comfort measures, encouragement, and guidance to help create a positive birth experience, whether at home, in hospital, or in a birthing centre.

Grounded in an integrated cultural perspective, this program honours traditional knowledge while incorporating evidence-based birth practices. Students will gain the skills and confidence to support families in a holistic and culturally safe way.
