The Gabriel Dumont Institute is honoured that the family of Roy Poitras wishes to honour his life by suggesting those who would like to make a donation in his memory do so through a fund that will be used to preserve and promote Michif, Roy’s first language. Roy was a Michif speaker and advocate who will be greatly missed. He has helped others learn Michif and he always had a story or two that would frequently leave those in his presence enjoying his humour and storytelling.
Those who wish to make a donation have the option of making it in $5 increments to the desired level.* The Institute is grateful for the donations and we will confirm each one with both the donors and the Poitras family.
