The Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invite applications for the following full time position:

Payroll Administrator

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Payroll Coordinator, the Payroll Administrator will be responsible for a variety of payroll functions. This position will assist with processing employee payroll on a semi-monthly pay schedule, including calculating payroll, employee set up, completing ROE’s, and payroll remittances to Revenue Canada; processing of board and/or committee travel claims on an as required basis; processing of monthly remittances to the company benefits plan, pension plan, and union dues. Will submit & reconcile contributions, produce Receiver General reports ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining confidentiality & discretion at all times. Candidate will communicate and relay information to employees and supervisors and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a degree in a Business related field with 1 – 3 years’ direct payroll experience, a Business Certificate or Diploma with equivalent experience will also be considered; previous experience in the use of computerized accounting/payroll; the ability to multi-task, solve problems, meet deadlines, work independently and as a member of a team, and will possess strong organizational and computer skills. A good working knowledge of the Métis community and PCP certification are considered assets.

Remuneration: A competitive salary and benefits package
