The Gabriel Dumont Institute has a 1 year term position as Faculty III to fill at the Saskatchewan Urban Native Teacher Education Program (SUNTEP) in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.

SUNTEP is a four-year Bachelor of Education degree program offered in conjunction with the University of Saskatchewan.

Responsibilities: Specific duties will include teaching educational methods classes and the formal placement, supervision, and evaluation of Teacher Candidates in the Extended Practicum and student teaching experiences. Other duties include faculty support for cultural and professional planning and a commitment to student counselling and support. Applicants will be required to have a strong background in cross-cultural education and an excellent knowledge of Saskatchewan curriculum and Metis/First Nations studies. Professional studies and experiences appropriate to elementary/middle year’s education will be given preference.
Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have a Masters Degree in Education; a Professional A Teaching Certificate; minimum of five years of successful classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level in the Saskatchewan school system; a broad variety of formal experiences supervising and evaluating teacher candidates; and a strong knowledge of Metis and First Nations issues in culture and education. The successful candidate will have a dedicated work ethic, ability to work as part of a team, and collaborate effectively with community stakeholders and school partners.
Remuneration: A competitive salary and benefits package based on GDI pay grid
Term: August 22, 2022 – August 21, 2023 inclusive
