Summer Youth Employment

The Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following summer employment positions:

1. Dumont Technical Institute – 2 FT Positions
Responsibilities: Under the direction of the DTI Director, duties will include but not be limited to;
assisting with student recruitment; ordering, collecting; recording and organizing program resources; preparing monthly reports on activities conducted and other duties as assigned.

2. Gabriel Dumont Institute Training & Employment – 2 FT Positions
Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Director of GDI T&E, duties will include but not be limited to; Labour Market research, office coverage, representation of GDI at provincial events, organizing resources; general office duties; travel throughout the province will be required and other duties as assigned.

3. Gabriel Dumont Institute Culture & Heritage – 2 FT Positions
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Métis Culture and Heritage, the Summer Employment assistant will be responsible for ensuring quality administrative support to Gabriel Dumont Institute through effective communication, organization and technical skill. Duties will include but not be limited to; researching, museum maintenance, material production, ordering, collecting, recording and organizing program resources, preparing monthly reports on activities conducted and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: To be eligible, applicants must be youth aged 15 – 30. The ideal candidate would be Métis, possess excellent public communication skills, good report writing skills and general computer skills are required. These positions are funded under the Canada Youth Summer Work Program.

Term: May 2023 – August 2023
Location: Saskatoon, SK
Salary Grid: $19.23 per hour/ 35 hours per week
