The GDI Training & Employment, a division of Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following position:
BUSINESS COUNSELLOR II

Responsibilities: Reporting to the program Employment Services Manager, the Business Counsellor II will be responsible for: providing guidance and services to Pathways to Entrepreneurship clients; providing advice relating to business plans, market research, financial analysis and reporting; providing services to Métis Economic Development groups; liaising with other service providers to ensure relentless support to clients; fostering a culturally affirming environment; performing follow-up and file maintenance activities; and facilitating workshops. Travel is a requirement of the position.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in a discipline related to business or demonstrated entrepreneurial experience plus two years of experience in finance, management, marketing, business development, or related discipline; knowledge of Aboriginal Financial Institutions/Capital Corporations is essential; bondable; highly organized with excellent problem-solving skills; preference will be given to a candidate with proven knowledge of business registration, licensing, and permitting processes in Saskatchewan. A valid Saskatchewan driver’s license will be required to facilitate travel within the province. The successful candidate will be required to complete Case Manager’s Training within 6 months of hire.
Term: July 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024 (subject to renewal)
Remuneration: GDI Counsellor 2 wage grid
