The Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following position:

Full-Time BUSINESS COUNSELLOR III

Competition Code: 2403 102S Apr 30

Responsibilities: Reporting to the program Manager, the Business Counsellor III will be responsible for working with Pathways for Entrepreneurship clients; providing advice relating to business plans, market research, financial analysis and reporting; providing services to Métis Economic Development groups; liaising with other service providers to ensure relentless support to clients; fostering a culturally affirming environment; performing follow-up and file maintenance activities; and facilitating workshops. Travel is a requirement of the position.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in a discipline related to business plus two years of experience in administration, finance, management, marketing, business development, or entrepreneurial experience; knowledge of Aboriginal Financial Institutions/Capital Corporations is essential; bondable; highly organized with excellent problem-solving skills; administrative experience is essential; preference will be given to a candidate with proven knowledge of business registration, licensing, and permitting processes in Saskatchewan. A valid Saskatchewan driver’s license will be required to facilitate travel within the province. The successful candidate will be required to complete Case Manager’s Training within 6 months of hire.

Term: May 2024 to March 31, 2025
