SUNTEP Prince Albert requires a sessional instructor for ECUR 382.3 Methods in Elementary Social Studies
Course Description: In this course, teacher candidates are introduced to approaches for designing culturally relevant, inquiry-based learning for elementary social studies. Through thematic lenses, teacher candidates develop theoretical frameworks that guide their social studies pedagogical development, and cultivate skills in selecting, applying, and differentiating teaching strategies, content, and assessments for diverse elementary learners. Focus is also placed on the interpretation and integration of treaty education outcomes and civic education outcomes into the social studies provincial curricula.
Responsibilities: Develop and deliver course content that aligns with the course objectives.
Engage students in interactive and practical learning experiences. Monitor and assess student progress and provide constructive feedback. Facilitate discussions and activities that encourage active learning. Support students in their learning.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a graduate degree and be approved by the University of Saskatchewan. An understanding of Gabriel Dumont Institute values and previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level is an asset.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of education and Saskatchewan school curricular outcomes. Delivery is in person at the Prince Albert SUNTEP campus.
Remuneration: U of S Sessional Lecturer wage grid
