The Saskatchewan Urban Native Teacher Education Program (SUNTEP) – Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following position:

Responsibilities: SUNTEP Saskatoon requires a sessional instructor for INDG 107 – Introduction to Canadian Indigenous Studies. This course aims to develop critical reading, writing, and thinking skills and provide the background necessary for advanced Indigenous Studies courses. Through course lectures and seminar discussions this course presents an overview of Aboriginal societies across Saskatchewan and Canada by linking processes of the past with contemporary issues.
The assignment would involve planning, preparation and delivery of appropriate course materials to students. Manage classroom activities to ensure an optimum learning environment for students. Assess student performance and provide consistent feedback. Awareness and implementation of culturally responsive approaches is an asset.
Qualifications: The candidate must possess a Master of Education degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience, such as a Master of Indigenous Studies. The successful candidate must be approved by the University of Saskatchewan. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility and the ability to work with Indigenous student populations are an asset.
Remuneration: U of S Sessional Lecturer wage grid
