Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Director of Dumont Technical Institute (DTI) and in partnership with Gabriel Dumont Institute Training and Employment (GDI T&E), the program coordinator will be responsible for: leading the joint DTI/GDI T&E needs assessment process (including community engagement and labour market research); participate in the development of the DTI multi-year business plan; writing annual reports; developing and negotiating proposals; liaising with public, private, government and other stakeholder agencies; creating and monitoring budgets and work plans; supervising and managing staff, following GDI policies/SGEU Collective Agreement; developing, preparing, and submitting reports to key stakeholders and governments; and managing DTI’s results based accountability framework.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Social Sciences, English, or in a related field. A degree in Commerce or in a business related field would be considered an asset. Exceptional research, writing, and analytic skills; a demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision; and the ability to work cooperatively with staff and other agencies. This is a unique position that requires the ability to maintain key relationships with GDI T&E. The ideal candidate will be flexible and have good communication and workload management skills. Preferred candidates will have two years’ experience in the delivery of services in training and/or employment; extensive understanding of Métis culture and employment and training needs of the client group; and an excellent understanding of current labour market issues and trends in Saskatchewan.
