The Dumont Technical Institute a division of Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following position:
Sessional Sociology (201) Online Instructor – Practical Nursing Program
Competition Code: 2202 108PS Jun 10
Responsibilities: To provide online instruction in Sociology (SOC 201) to adult students enrolled in the Practical Nursing program. Planning, preparation and delivery of appropriate Sociology course instruction to students. Manage classroom/lab activities to ensure an optimum learning environment for students. Evaluate student performance and provide academic guidance. Attend scheduled meetings, and other duties as assigned. Evaluation of student progress using proscribed assessment measurement and oral report is ongoing during each semester.
Qualifications: Candidate must possess a Masters Degree in Sociology and/or equivalent combination of training and experience. Two years of teaching experience in nursing at the college or university level is an advantage. Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills required. Good interpersonal and communication skills – written and oral, flexibility and the ability to work with diverse student populations are an asset. Ability to arrange, maintain and evaluate resources required.
Remuneration: A competitive salary and benefits package
Location: Prince Albert & Saskatoon SK
Term: August 2022 – January 2023 (67.5 hours)
