Faculty II – Mechanical Instructor (Wild Rice Harvester)
Sustainable Maintenance Technician Program

Responsibilities: A unique opportunity exists for an instructor in DTI’s Sustainable Maintenance Technician program in Saskatchewan’s beautiful Northwest. As a pilot program offered in partnership with Saskatchewan Polytechnic, the instructor will use their knowledge of outdoor power equipment to provide instruction in the communities of Beauval, Ile-a-la-Crosse, and La Loche. This program will provide learners with the fundamentals necessary to diagnose, repair, and maintain outdoor power equipment with an emphasis on aluminum-hull harvesting boats. The program will be offered rotationally (in 2-week periods) between the noted communities with accommodations and travel being provided.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a strong background maintaining Outdoor Power Equipment, 2 and 4 stroke engines, general mechanics and troubleshooting, engine maintenance, electrical, fuel systems and drive systems, and general welding and oxyacetylene work. Candidates should be knowledgeable in Metis and First Nations culture and have excellent interactive skills, including the ability to deliver training to a diverse group of learners. A valid driver’s license is strongly recommended.
Remuneration: $66,571 – $87,603 plus benefits package
