The Dumont Technical Institute a division of Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following position:

Sessional Sociology (160/201) Instructor Practical Nursing Program

Competition Code: 2302 108R Oct 15

Responsibilities: To provide instruction in Sociology (SOC 160/SOC 201) to adult students enrolled in the Practical Nursing program. Planning, preparation and delivery of appropriate Sociology course instruction to students. Manage classroom/lab activities to ensure an optimum learning environment for students. Evaluate student performance and provide academic guidance. Attend scheduled meetings, and other duties as assigned. Evaluation of student progress using proscribed assessment measurement and oral report is ongoing during each semester.

Qualifications: A master’s degree in sociology is preferred. A degree in a related discipline, in addition to experience in the industry will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Two years recent/relevant experience in business/industry or post-secondary education. Effective communication skills (oral and written). Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Effective instructional ability. Ability to arrange, maintain and evaluate resources. Demonstrates valuing diversity.

Remuneration: As per DTI Sessional rate $65/hr
Location: Regina, SK (online teaching may be considered)
Term: January 2024 – June 2024 (100 hours)
