EMPLOYMENT COUNSELLOR – Leave Replacement
Competition Code: 2303 102P Feb 9
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Employment Services Manager, the Employment Counsellor will be responsible for providing career and employment-related guidance, career development assistance, and labour market information and assistance to Métis individuals; providing follow-up assistance to individuals; maintaining the computerized client database information and initiating follow-up reports; liaising with business and industry; partnership development; efficient and effective application of programs and services; participating in regional needs assessment processes and other duties as assigned. Travel is a requirement of the position.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a relevant Bachelor’s Degree combined with related work experience or equivalent educational qualifications and work experience; a minimum of two years experience in the delivery of services in training and/or employment; highly effective computer skills; a demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with staff and other agencies; extensive understanding of Métis culture and employment and training needs of the Métis, and an excellent understanding of labour market issues and trends within Saskatchewan. A valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle to facilitate any required travel within the Region/Province.
Term: February 2023 – March 31, 2023 (possibility of renewal)
