Library Resource Facilitator

Responsibilities:
To work with students, clients and GDI programs, providing all support functions such as; management and promotion of library resource collection, ordering and processing of materials, job search, resume building, referrals, job postings, library resource searches, directing calls and dealing with general enquiries from students, clients and the public in person and over the phone, working collaboratively with other GDI resources centres across the province, relevant duties as required by other Institute staff and any other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator. The major emphasis of this position is to effectively manage the library resource collection and to provide support as a career resource facilitator for GDI Training & Employment clients, the Métis community and the Prince Albert community as a whole.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a library technician diploma or relevant experience working in a library environment. The individual must have sound knowledge of and practical application skills in all Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc) applications; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility, highly motivated and the ability to work with individuals from various equity groups and with little supervision is required. A good working knowledge of Métis history and culture would be a distinct asset.
Remuneration: GDI Library Technician pay band
Location: Prince Albert, SK
Term: October 2024 – October 2025 (possibility of extension)
