The Dumont Technical Institute a division of Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following position:
Sessional Communications Instructor – Continuing Care Assistant

Communications 197 Helping Skills (15 hour class) and Communications 291- Interpersonal Communications (30 hours) for the CCA group in Prince Albert.
Qualifications: The instructor qualifications needed for teaching communications is preferred Master of Communication degree or Master of Arts (English or Communication major), will accept a four-year Bachelor of Communications degree or a BA (English or Communications major) or BEd (English or Communications major).
Responsibilities: To provide planning, instruction, marking and student support for adult students in the two communications classes. Must work well on a team and communicatee with lead instructor about scheduling, student progress and marks. Classes are described as follows:
Helping Skills: You will apply communication skills to facilitate a helping relationship with your clients, their families, significant others, other health care staff, as well as various other professionals.
Interpersonal Communications: You will develop employability skills through the study of interpersonal communications theory and applications in the workplace. Learning outcomes include the importance of self-awareness and self-esteem, perception problems, verbal and nonverbal messages, and listening skills, creating positive communication climates and resolving interpersonal conflict.
In person instruction preferred.
Remuneration: $65.00 per hour
Location: Regina, SK
Term: September 2024 – January 2025 (50 hours)
