The Gabriel Dumont College – Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following position:

Sessional Instructor – Indigenous Pedagogies and Curriculum Theory (ED 952)

Responsibilities: Gabriel Dumont College requires an ED 952 Indigenous Pedagogies and Curriculum Theory sessional instructor, for the Indigenous Education Doctorate program. This course focuses on advanced understandings of Indigenous pedagogies and provides students with theoretical and experiential frameworks to help them comprehend curriculum principles. It will assist students in critically reflecting on their own practice, engaging in pedagogies from an Indigenous worldview, and creating places for advocacy and resistance in education.

The assignment would involve planning, preparation and delivery of appropriate course instruction to students. Manage classroom activities to ensure an optimum learning environment for students. Evaluate student performance and provide consistent feedback. Awareness and implementation of culturally responsive approaches is an asset.

Qualifications: Candidate will possess an Education Doctorate or Ph.D. in Education appropriate to the area of instruction. Applicants should also have experience in the education system appropriate to the content of the course applied for, knowledge of, and experience with the Saskatchewan curriculum, knowledge and experience with Faculty of Education programs, and current knowledge of issues related to the course for which the applicant has applied. University teaching experience is an asset.

Remuneration: U of R Sessional Lecturer wage grid
