SUNTEP Prince Albert requires a sessional instructor for INST 100.3 – Strategies for Academic Success
Course Description: Students will attain a basic knowledge of cognition as it applies to learning. They will learn to apply their knowledge of strategies, skills, and attitude through active monitoring of their own lifestyle, decision-making, and self-regulation in an effort to improve upon their overall academic success and view of learning.
Responsibilities: Develop and deliver course content that aligns with the course objectives.
Engage students in interactive and practical learning experiences. Monitor and assess student progress and provide constructive feedback. Facilitate discussions and activities that encourage active learning. Support students in applying cognitive strategies to their academic and personal lives.
The assignment would involve planning, preparation and delivery of appropriate course instruction to students. Manage classroom activities to ensure an optimum learning environment for students. Evaluate student performance and provide consistent feedback. Awareness and implementation of culturally responsive approaches.
Qualifications: Candidate must possess a Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field is required and must be approved by the college of Arts and Science. Understanding of Gabriel Dumont Institute mandate and strategic priorities along with previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level is an asset. Strong understanding of cognitive theories as they relate to learning and education and the ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds is essential.
Remuneration: U of S Sessional Lecturer wage grid
