The Saskatchewan Urban Native Teacher Education Program (SUNTEP) – Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following position:

Sessional Instructor – Methods in Kinesiology (KIN 146)

Responsibilities: SUNTEP Saskatoon requires a sessional instructor for KIN 146 – Methods in Kinesiology for 2024 Fall Term. This course is designed to prepare students for teaching K-9 provincial curriculum and to improve their knowledge of physical activity. The course will offer prospective and current College of Education students’ opportunities to increase their understanding of the role of physical activity in the health and well-being of school aged children and youth.

The assignment would involve planning, preparation and delivery of appropriate course instruction to students. Manage classroom activities to ensure an optimum learning environment for students. Evaluate student performance and provide consistent feedback. Awareness and implementation of culturally responsive approaches.

Qualifications: Candidate must possess a Master of Education and /or equivalent combination of training and experience in the content area and be approved by the University of Saskatchewan. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility and the ability to work with Indigenous student populations are an asset.

Remuneration: U of S Sessional Lecturer wage grid
