The Gabriel Dumont Institute’s SUNTEP program invites applications for the filling the following position:

Student Support Facilitator

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Program Head – SUNTEP Saskatoon, the Student Support Facilitator will be responsible for assisting with provision of effective student support and administrative functions; implementation of Métis specific cultural aspects of the SUNTEP student experience; the coordination of the daily, recurrent and ongoing activities of student support at the SUNTEP office in Saskatoon; student application process; all aspects of student programming and timetables; academic counselling; coordination and implementation of Student Loan and Scholarship applications, information to SUNTEP Saskatoon students; the provision of friendly and professional verbal and written correspondence; updating and archiving of student and office records; keeping accurate electronic files; maintaining well organized filing system; and all other duties as assigned by the Program Head and the Institute.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a degree in Education or equivalent combination of education and experience; be knowledgeable about Métis history and culture as it relates to the province’s post-secondary education systems. The candidate will possess vast knowledge and experience in the areas of Métis culture, transition of culturally relevant content into educational curriculum and all aspects of the Saskatchewan K-12 system, preferably classroom experience in elementary education. The position requires knowledge and experience in the areas of counselling, managing students and supporting academia in post-secondary. The successful candidate must be very organized and able to prioritize tasks; must be friendly, personable and able to build harmonious working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; must be able to exercise good judgement in recognizing scope of authority and protecting confidential information. The successful candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, have the ability to meet deadlines, be highly motivated, and have the ability to work independently.

Term: August 2024 – August 2025 (Possibility of renewal)
Remuneration: $ 66,571 – $87,603 and Benefits Package
Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
