The Dumont Technical Institute, a division of Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research, invites applications for the following position:

Sessional Sociology (160) Online Instructor – Continuing Care Assistant

Responsibilities:
To provide online instruction in Sociology (SOC 160) to adult students enrolled in the Continuing Care Assistant program. Planning, preparation, and delivery of appropriate Sociology course instruction to students. Manage online classroom/lab activities to ensure an optimum learning environment for students. Evaluate student performance and provide academic guidance. Attend scheduled meetings, and other duties as assigned. Evaluation of student progress using proscribed assessment measurement and oral report is ongoing during each semester.

Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in Sociology is required. Two years recent/relevant experience in business/industry or post-secondary teaching experience. Effective communication skills (oral and written) and effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of online tools, MS Office Suite software, and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology. Demonstrates valuing diversity.

This is a sessional position, with a sessional pay rate: $65/hour. The sessional position will have 45 hours of instructing time and 20 hours of prep and marking.

Remuneration: $65.00 per hour
Location: Online (Saskatoon, Prince Albert and Regina)
Term: January 2026 – April 2026 (65 hours)
