Gabriel Dumont College is seeking a sessional instructor for the EC&I 823: Culturally Relevant Pedagogy: Effective Teaching Practices for Aboriginal Students course, part of the Indigenous Community-Based Master of Education program. This course explores culturally relevant pedagogy for Aboriginal students, with a focus on theories of decolonization. Participants engage in activities and discussions based on readings to analyze effective teaching practices. They also reflect on their own professional beliefs and actions to advance the theory and practice of Aboriginal education.
The role involves planning, preparing, and delivering appropriate course instruction to students. The instructor will manage classroom activities to ensure an optimal learning environment. Additionally, the instructor will evaluate student performance and provide consistent feedback, while being mindful of and implementing culturally responsive teaching approaches.
Qualifications: The candidate must possess a Master of Education and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience, and must be approved by the University of Regina. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively with Indigenous student populations are essential assets.
Remuneration: U of R Sessional Lecturer wage grid
