Sessional Instructor – Introduction to Creative Writing (ENG 120)

SUNTEP Prince Albert requires a sessional instructor for ENG 120 – Introduction to Creative Writing

Course Description: This course introduces students to strategies for writing original fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction. The course will include both lectures and writing workshops in which students critique original writing by class members. Visiting authors may be invited into the classroom, and students will be encouraged to attend literary events in the community. By the end of the course, students will have a portfolio of polished writing in three genres.

Responsibilities: Develop and deliver course content that aligns with the course objectives.
Engage students in interactive and practical learning experiences. Monitor and assess student progress and provide constructive feedback. Facilitate discussions and activities that encourage active learning. Support students in their learning.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a Masters Degree and be approved by the University of Saskatchewan English Department. An understanding of Gabriel Dumont Institute values and previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level is an asset.

*Delivery is in person at the Prince Albert SUNTEP campus, hybrid or remote for the right candidate – Thursdays 9:00am to 12:00pm

Remuneration: U of S Sessional Lecturer wage grid
