The Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research invites applications for the following position:

Research Officer I — 0.8 FTE

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL

Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Director of the Institute’s Culture and Heritage Department, the Research Officer I will be responsible for providing support functions such as: receiving, filling, and processing orders; covering in‐person customer visits to our store; keeping track of inventory and ensuring stock is replaced in the store; supporting cultural activities and workshops, promoting Institute resources and events, monitoring and ordering supplies; scanning, word processing, archiving documents, audio and video data as requested by other department staff; processing invoices; relevant duties as required by other staff, and any other duties as assigned. Some evening, weekend work and travel will be required.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have post‐secondary training in a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered. The successful candidate must have sound knowledge of Métis history and culture and have practical application skills in all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility, highly motivated, and the ability to work independently with individuals from various equity groups is required. A valid Saskatchewan driver’s licence and the willingness to travel is required.

Term: March 17, 2025 – September 15, 2025 (no possibility of renewal)
Remuneration: Research Officer I – GDI salary grid
