Our Mission Statement: To promote the renewal and development of Métis culture through research, materials development, collection and distribution of those materials, and the design, development and delivery of Métis-specific educational programs and services.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Gabriel Dumont Institute (GDI), the Director of Dumont Technical Institute (DTI) provides strategic leadership and administrative oversight of DTI’s adult, technical, and vocational programming across Saskatchewan. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: leading the development of DTI’s annual training plan and three-year training forecast; overseeing administrative, financial, human resource, and marketing functions; supervising management staff across multiple regions; liaising with Saskatchewan Polytechnic, regional colleges, and government partners; maintaining strong relationships with Métis communities and stakeholders; ensuring programs are culturally relevant, conducting comprehensive needs assessments, community-based, and responsive to labour market demands by taking a leadership role in the completion of the annual regional needs assessments process; providing financial and operational reports to the CEO and Board; representing DTI at meetings, forums, and partnerships; and contributing to GDI’s overall strategic direction. The Director may also be assigned additional duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position by the CEO of GDI.
Qualifications: The candidate will hold a Master’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Indigenous Studies, or a related discipline. Candidates currently enrolled in a relevant Master’s program may also be considered. Applicants must a minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in adult education, vocational/technical training, or Indigenous post-secondary institutions, with proven success in program development, budgeting, and strategic planning. Strong communication, relationship-building, and supervisory skills are essential, along with the ability to engage effectively with government agencies, post-secondary partners, and Métis communities. Knowledge of Saskatchewan’s labour market trends, education systems, and Métis culture and aspirations is required. The position also requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel within Saskatchewan.
