Sessional Instructor – Nistowiak, Indigenous Teaching, Learning and Leadership (ED 957)

Gabriel Dumont College requires an ED 957 Land-Based education: Nistowiak, Indigenous Teaching, Learning and Leadership sessional instructor, for the Indigenous Education Doctorate program. This advanced course weaves Indigenous theoretical and experiential approaches to teaching, learning and leadership with a focus on Nistowiak – where the three come together – on the land through land-based education. Students will have an opportunity to reconceptualize education that honours Indigenous knowing through the land.

The assignment would involve planning, preparation and delivery of appropriate course instruction to students. Manage classroom activities to ensure an optimum learning environment for students. Evaluate student performance and provide consistent feedback. Awareness and implementation of culturally responsive approaches.

Qualifications: Candidate will possess an Education Doctorate or Ph.D. in Education appropriate to the area of instruction. Applicants should also have experience in: the education system appropriate to the content of the course applied for; knowledge of, and experience with the Saskatchewan curriculum; knowledge and experience with Faculty of Education programs and current knowledge of issues related to the course for which the applicant has applied. Candidates must be approved by the University of Regina. University teaching experience is an asset.

Remuneration: U of R Sessional Lecturer wage grid
Location: Land based learning – Northern Saskatchewan
Term: July 1, 2026 – July 31, 2026 (39 teaching hours)
