Sessional Instructor – Social & Political Issues in Métis Education

Gabriel Dumont College requires a Social & Political Issues in Métis Education sessional instructor for the Indigenous Education Doctorate program. This course examines historical and present Métis social and political challenges in education, with special emphasis on Métis culture, language, and identity. Through the study of geographical and historical affiliations and alliances that effect contemporary Métis culture, students gain an in-depth comprehension of the dynamics that influence Métis education and the political structure.

The assignment would involve planning, preparation and delivery of appropriate course instruction to students. Manage classroom activities to ensure an optimum learning environment for students. Evaluate student performance and provide consistent feedback. Awareness and implementation of culturally responsive approaches.

Qualifications
Candidate will possess an Education Doctorate or Ph.D. in Education appropriate to the area of instruction. Applicants should also have experience in: the education system appropriate to the content of the course applied for; knowledge of, and experience with the Saskatchewan curriculum; knowledge and experience with Faculty of Education programs and current knowledge of issues related to the course for which the applicant has applied. Candidates must be approved by the University of Regina. University teaching experience is an asset.
