Open Call for Métis Artists and Illustrators!

May 11, 2016

Posted in:

Métis visual artists are invited to submit a portfolio to the Gabriel Dumont Institute (GDI) Press. GDI Press promotes the work of Métis artists, illustrators, and authors by publishing children’s books, publications, and projects relating to Métis history and culture. We are looking to increase our database of interested illustrators. We encourage both emerging and established Métis artists to submit a portfolio for consideration. By submitting a portfolio, you are not guaranteed to receive a future project, but it will create awareness of your work and may lead to future work with GDI Press. We invite you to submit your range of styles so we can see if one of them is a good match for a particular story or project. GDI Press may find that your style is a good fit if we have your portfolio on file. This is an open call with no deadline; however, the sooner a portfolio is submitted, the sooner you may be chosen for a project.

Please submit: 1. Artist Statement and Biography 2. Résumé 3. Art Samples

Electronic samples are preferred. If you are sending hard copies, please note if you would like the samples returned or if they can be kept on file at GDI Press. We assure you your work will not be shared or used without your permission.
