Open Call for Métis Authors and Artists!

May 28, 2019

Posted in: ,

Gabriel Dumont Institute (GDI) Press is looking to promote emerging Métis authors and visual artists, and are providing an opportunity to submit manuscripts and visual art portfolios. GDI Press promotes the work of Métis artists, illustrators, and authors by publishing children’s books, publications, and projects relating to Métis history and culture. We are looking to increase our database of interested authors and illustrators. By submitting a manuscript or portfolio, you are not guaranteed to receive a future project, but it will create awareness of your work and may lead to future work with GDI Press. For artists, we invite you to submit your range of styles so we can see if one of them is a good match for a particular story or project. GDI Press may find that your style is a good fit if we have your portfolio on file. This is an open call with no deadline. We will confirm receipt of your submission. Please note that our review process can take 6-12 months.

Artists Please submit: (1) Artist Statement and Biography (2) Résumé (3) Art Samples
Authors Please submit: (1) Author Biography (2) Résumé (3) Manuscript for Consideration

Electronic submissions are preferred. We cannot guarantee the return of hard copies. We assure you your work will not be shared or used without your permission.
