Open House: Sustainable Maintenance Technical Program for Wild Rice Harvesters

Join Dumont Technical Institute to learn more about our new Sustainable Maintenance Technical Program for Wild Rice Harvesters. Snacks and refreshments will be served!

Open House Schedule:

➡October 11th, 9:00 -11:30 am at the BDI Extnesion Classroom, Beauval

➡October 11th, 1:00 – 3:30 pm at the GDI Training & Employment Office, Ile-a-la-Crosse

➡October 12th, 9:00 – 11:30 am at the Métis local #62 Building, Buffalo Narrows

➡ October 12th 1:00 – 3:30 pm at the Gabriel Dumont Institute Building, La Loche

This program will provide learners with the fundamentals necessary to diagnose, repair, and maintain outdoor power equipment with an emphasis on aluminum-haul harvesting boats. Preference will be given to those actively involved in wild rice harvesting or the maintenance of wild rice harvesting equipment. However, the mechanical skills you learn will be transferable to other types of old and modern engines.

This program is offered rotationally in two-week periods between November 2023 – May 2024 with a total of 180 hours of learning.
