Opening Reception for the Métis Ribbon Skirt exhibition

Saturday January 20th, 2024
2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
The Saskatchewan Craft Council
813 Broadway Ave.
Saskatoon, SK
The Métis Ribbon Skirt exhibition, co-organized by the Gabriel Dumont Institute and the Saskatchewan Craft Council, celebrates Métis history while embracing the cultural traditions of women who continue to make and wear contemporary-style ribbon skirts. Ribbon skirts have become a symbol of cultural reclamation for Indigenous women, including Métis women, who wear ribbon skirts to honour their history and demonstrate cultural pride.
The exhibition runs January 13 – March 9, 2024, at Saskatchewan Craft Council.
We hope you can join us on Saturday, January 20th at 2:00 p.m. for the artist reception!
