Bringing Métis Children’s Literature to Life: Teacher Guidebook for GDI Publications

Looking to incorporate more Métis history and culture into your classroom? GDI has just released Bringing Métis Children’s Literature to Life: Teacher Guidebook for GDI Publications Compiled by Wilfred Burton. This guidebook features six lesson plan clusters, highlighting 14 GDI resources, which include: Who are the Métis?; Métis Values-Good Medicine; Métis Roots; Entertainment Stories; and Métis Dance. Available for free online at http://www.metismuseum.ca/resource.php/13827, this guidebook is intended as a living document, with more lesson plans being added as GDI Publishing releases new resources. A print version of the guidebook will be available soon for free to pick up at the GDI Publishing office in Saskatoon, and if you can’t make it in to see us, you will be able to order it by covering the shipping costs (checkhttp://shop.gdins.org for availability).
