Wage Subsidy

This Wage Subsidy is designed to help Métis individuals enter or return to the workforce by participating in a practical work experience. The employer will prepare the trainees for the labour market by using and enhancing their skills.

The Wage Subsidy provides employers with a wage subsidy to hire Métis individuals for full-time employment for a maximum of 26 weeks. The objective of the Wage Subsidy is to assist Métis individuals to make the transition to career-related employment and provide them with marketable skills and experience that will likely lead to long-term employment.

Eligibility

  1. Valid Métis Nation—Saskatchewan Citizenship Card;
  2. Be a minimum of 18 years of age;
  3. Have barriers to employment that prevent you from securing long-term employment; and
  4. Be unemployed or underemployed and actively seeking employment.
