“Lebret — Looking Back and Beyond” Book Launch a Success!

GDI Press celebrated the release of Joan Pelletier’s first book Lebret – Looking Back and Beyond: An Autobiography on September 20th, 2023.
The event was attended warmly by the Métis community from around Lebret and beyond. The evening was filled with laughter and tears as first-time author Joan Pelletier shared stories from a simpler, gentler time and place before the devasting disruption of having to leave her loving, supportive Michif family and road allowance community for the unfriendly and unfamiliar confines of the big city.
