The Publishing Department prides itself on its active community involvement. We participate in committees that support our publishing program and GDI’s mandate, such as the Saskatchewan Publishers Group, the Saskatchewan Archives Board, the Museums Association of Saskatchewan, Heritage Saskatchewan, and the Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild.
As a community-based publisher, we often serve as a liaison for the Métis community. GDI Publishing has had a presence at many Métis cultural events across Saskatchewan, and on occasion, nationally.
In partnership with the Batoche National Historic Site and Parks Canada, GDI Publishing has co-hosted numerous events to promote and preserve Métis culture. This partnership was recognized as the 2009 Corporate Partner of the Year at the Saskatchewan Tourism Awards of Excellence.
